Bulletproof Comics at the BICS!

It’s been a bit of a crazy week, so apologies for the delay in getting our BICS follow-up report online!
This was our first BICS as a publisher, and the show has really grown since its launch three years ago. We had a fantastic weekend at the event and got the chance to meet so many incredibly talented UK comic creators. The Bulletproof Comics stand was situated right next to the main entrance, which meant we had a steady stream of customers going by and picking up our selection of products. Writer Bulent Yusuf (Game Over) was one of the many people who diligently manned the stand, so thanks for the help, fella!
Our new Bulletproof # 2 proved to be incredibly popular, with most folks picking up issue # 1 as well. Don’t forget you can now order issue # 2 from our Online Store!
A big Bulletproof Comics shout-out has to go to Tim Perkins (Wizard’s Keep’s creative powerhouse), Jon Haward (The Tempest, Wasted, Simba Khan), and Alan Burrows (the man, the legend) for taking the time out to sketch and sign for fans. We have a number of their exclusive sketch covers and will be making them available online soon. Keep checking back for more info on how you can get hold of ‘em!
Talking of BICS exclusives, we’ve now added the last of our Limited Edition Bulletproof # 1/2 Sketch Cover comic books to the Online Store, along with the full colour, 12-page Marren Kane # 0 Preview Comic. Grab ‘em while you can!
We also wanted to say thanks to a number of super-cool creators and Bulletproof contributors who popped by to chat including Andy Winter, Lew Stringer, Jon Rushby, Lee Langford, Jason Dennis, John A Short, Laura Howell, Paul Birch, Nigel Dobbyn, Nigel Kitching, and Kevin Levell. And finally, cheers to Shane Chebsey for organising such a great event. He, James Hodgkins, Andy Baker and rest of their team really do bust a gut to make the BICS an amazing event, so thanks a lot guys!
Bulletproof Comics will be there again next year. In the meantime, it’s looking highly likely we’ll also be at this year’s Thought Bubble Festival in November and Hi-Ex in February ‘09.

Bulletproof issue # 2 - On Sale Now!

Yes, it’s true! The second issue of our self-titled anthology arrived back from the printers on Friday, just in time for the BICS. We shifted quite a few of these bad boys over the weekend, and it received an overwhelmingly positive reception from all who picked it up.
Bulletproof # 2 is an 80-page anthology, boasting an amazing array of creators and creations. This issue also includes over 30 pages of full colour strips! The line-up for issue # 2 is as follows:

BICS, issue # 2 & 3 update and new Highway Robbery!

We’ve been away for slightly longer than expected, but now we’re back with a bang!
First up is a double-whammy of Highway Robbery this weekend from Dave Hailwood and Tony Suleri. Check out Part 16 HERE!

On the comics front, we had a slight delay at the printers with Bulletproof # 2, but should have it up for sale on our Online Store next week.
As for Bulletproof # 3, well we were trying to get it completed and printed in time for the BICS, but it wasn’t to be. Having said that, it will still go on sale in October, so watch this space for more news!
Next up is this year’s BICS, and Bulletproof Comics will be there for the first time! We’ll be over at Stand 151 with a full range of comic books, including Bulletproof # 0, Bulletproof # 1, Bulletproof # 1/2 and the brand-new Bulletproof # 2. What’s more, we’ll also have a number of BICS Con Exclusives up for grabs!
First up we have a limited edition, full colour 12-page Marren Kane # 0 comic book for sale! Featuring an all-new story from creators Dave Hailwood and Tony Suleri, this’ll be a must-have item.
Secondly, you also be able to buy our Blank Cover Version of Bulletproof # 1/2 which’ll be handy for all those sketches you’ll be getting at the Con.
And speaking of sketches, we’re proud to have a number of creators who’ll be stopping by to do signing and sketching sessions at our stand! Confirmed so far are Jon Haward (The Tempest, Wasted, Sideburns), Tony Suleri (Marren Kane) and Alan Burrows (Funguys), with more to come. We’ll announce the full line-up and times in the next few days.
It’s going to be great to meet everyone at our first Con, so make sure you come say hi at Stand 151, grab a free Bulletproof badge and other goodies and meet our creators. Seeya there!
